Poem "Words"

I recently read a poem entitled "Words".  This poem touched my heart.

Words

A careless word may kindle strife.
A cruel word may wreck a life.
A brutal word may smite and kill.
A gracious word may smooth the way.
A joyous word may lessen stress.
A loving word may heal and bless.

Preparing for Rain

Today the Lord gave me a thought that has stuck with me all day.  It was about the story of two farmers who needed rain desperately, both prayed, but only one prepared his fields to receive the rain.  It is funny many people pray for the blessings of the Lord, but are any of them preparing their fields to receive the blessing.  Let me show this in another way and maybe you'll understand it.  I have heard many people say oh we are following the Lord in doing some activity.  It is spontaneous and little thought goes into the planning.  Is that a bad thing?  No, the Lord does work that way from time to time, but if that is how everything is done then it can become a habit of doing things that way.  Can there be blessings if things are done spontanously and without much thought or planning?  Yes, of course anything God does can and is a blessing, BUT think how much more of a blessing there could be if a little more thought and planning went into preparing our field to receive the blessings.  Oh the souls that could be won.  Oh the children of God that could be blessed just a little more.  Oh the harvest that could be reaped if we just prepare our fields a little better.

The Old Plain Path

Well ladies I am now going to add to my blog http://kimberlysdoodlingdoodles.blogspot.com/  and it is going to be called Old Paths.  Titus 2:3-5 says "The aged women likewise, that they be in behavior as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things;  That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, To be discreet, shaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their won husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed."  I am not a preacher and will never be, however I am someone who can teach other ladies, but only by the grace of God.  This is blog is for the simple purpose of sharing what the Lord has shared with me.  I am simply following the path that the Lord has lead me to be on at this moment in my life.  I hope this is a journey we can make together and together we can learn more about our Savior and walk with Him on this journey.

The verses for this blog are Jeremiah 6:16 "Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls...." and Psalm 27:11 "Teach me thy way, O LORD, and lead me in a plain path, because of mine enemies."  May we be found following God where ever He leads cause one thing we can be sure of the where He is there is safety.
